ASD Inc. is now accepting applications for consideration for the seventh annual Alexander Goetz Instrument Support Program. The program supports researchers during the year of 2013 by awarding them the use of the FieldSpec® 4 Standard-Res spectroradiometer or the FieldSpec HandHeld 2™ spectroradiometers.
Applicants will be selected for the program to further their research in remote sensing applications. In addition to use of the advanced spectroradiometer instruments, recipients of the Goetz award are eligible for up to a $500 stipend to help with fees for publishing costs in an approved journal or travel assistance to present at an approved scientific conference.
The Goetz Instrument Support Program is designed to foster creative research in remote sensing and field spectroscopy in a variety of applications from hyperspectral image interpretation and validation to oceanography and ecology. The award is open to graduate students within an accredited university in countries where Carnet documentation for shipments are accepted.
Applications are due no later than Oct. 15, 2012 to be eligible for consideration for the program.
An esteemed, interdisciplinary committee headed up by Dr. Alexander Goetz will review applications. Winners will be announced in early December.
More information about the program, eligibility, submission guidelines, and past winners can be found on the Goetz Instrument Program page.
