Join us for our next free webinar - Analyzing and Groundtruthing Soil Characteristics

August 23, 2016

Our 2016 webinar series focuses on one ASD spectroscopy application each month.

If you haven't watched each of our previous webinars, visit our webinar recordings page to see what you missed. Some of our past topics include: NIR, Metamorphic Petrology, and Remote Sensing, On-orbit Sensor Absolute Radiometric Calibration for Earth Remote Sensing, and Adventures in Albedo.

This September, our webinar focuses on the application of soil characteristics.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • How (and why) water alters the spectral reflectance of soil
  • The importance of the location of water in the soil
  • Nutrient and organic matter analysis of soil
  • UAS sensor calibration using an ASD instrument
  • Groundtruthing a UAS sensor using an ASD instrument

NEW! Introducing the QualitySpec Trek full-range hand-held contact spectrometer!

September 23, 2014

We are happy to announce the release of QualitySpec Trek, our first general purpose, full-range (350-2500 nm), hand-held contact spectrometer. QualitySpec Trek leverages the TerraSpec Halo mineral identifier's innovative design and superior performance to transform the way full-range spectra are collected; in the lab, on the job site, in the field.

ASD FieldSpec 4 spectroradiometer joins the EXELIS Exploring ENVI training class

July 25, 2014

With the help of one of our customer service specialists Chris Locke, an ASD FieldSpec 4 spectroradiometer dropped in on an EXELIS Exploring ENVI training class in Boulder, Colo. yesterday for a live outdoor demonstration on spectral data collection. Chris showed the attendees how to operate a FieldSpec, touching on subjects that included sampling best practices and how to properly collect a white reference measurement.

ASD Challenges Graduate Students to Submit “Outside the Box” Remote Sensing and Spectroscopy Research Ideas by October 15

April 18, 2013

As part of the eighth annual Alexander Goetz Instrument Support Program, ASD Inc., a PANalytical company is seeking “outside of the box” applications—innovative, clever and visionary—from all fields of study involving remote sensing and field spectroscopy. Those with the most thought-provoking research proposals will be awarded a FieldSpec® 4 spectroradiometer or a FieldSpec HandHeld 2™ portable spectroradiometer for a specified period of time to complete their research. The best proposals will reach beyond an advance of understanding, to defining an hypothesis being tested, or a specific objective being sought.
